Hey girls! I put all our information together this is how it looks so far. Im still waiting for some stuff to be emailed to me but it looks really good so far. There are some things missing though :(

1. Michelle’s article review and the part you are summerizing.

2. Suntanna I’m not sure what is the title of your article and I never got the email about the strengths and weaknesses (When I open the document you send me it opens up to the document with the different colors)

3. Catarina your article is really good but you need to have citations where you borrowed information from the article. (Just go back and put the author’s name and quotation marks where theyre needed.)

And lastly I need everyone’s references. Read the last page of the document that is attached to this email and send me your citations.

Today the group met for about an hour and discussed our articles as well as work with a packet Justyna made for the group to help with completing the paper. We decided that by Monday we should all individually have our literary review portions of the paper finished so we could move forward with the rest of the assignment.

After class all group members stayed to meet and discuss what our theory would be. We decided that “even though people are in unsatisfying relationships one tends to stay due to emotional attachment, family ties, and comfortability” is the group’s theory, as well as deciding our group is Humanist.

Attachment and the Use of Negative Relational Maintenance Behaviors in Romantic Relationships.

“The purpose of this study was to examine the link between adult attachment (i.e., secure, preoccupied, fearful-avoidant, and dismissive) and the use of negative relational maintenance behaviors (i.e., jealousy induction, avoidance, spying, infidelity, destructive conflict, and allowing control) in romantic relationships. Participants were 232 adults who completed a questionnaire and were currently involved in a romantic relationship. Results revealed inverse relationships between secure attachment and the use of negative relational maintenance behaviors, as well as positive relationships between dismissive and fearful-avoidant attachments and some negative relational maintenance behaviors. After controlling for the influence ofrelationship satisfaction, the dismissive and preoccupied attachment styles were the most salient predictors of negative relational maintenance.”

“Positive and Negative Nonverbal Behaviors in Relationships:A Study of Relationship Satisfaction and Longevity”

The research found significant findings in two factors, longevity of the relationship and overall relationship satisfaction, which are positively correlated to the use of positive nonverbal behaviors. The findings of this study are significant and pertinent to the field communication studies because it shows that an increased use in positive nonverbal behaviors will help increase relationship satisfaction.

The title of the article I found is called “Why do people stay in hateful relationships? The concept of malignant vindictiveness”.

This article is about a couple who do not get along, go to therapy and describe their personal lives. The wife has always been in controlling relationships and has anxiety and uses antidepressants. The husband is emotionally unattached to her and shows no signs of caring. This article focuses on the wife and why she is still with her husband of 12 years.
